It’s that time of year again where those of you entering your long-awaited high school senior year are wanting some amazing senior pictures that will celebrate your uniqueness and mark this important time of your life! As we all know, your senior year is a major milestone and senior portraits are a rite of passage. With so many great photographers to choose from I would like to help you make sure you get the images you love.
I will give you seven tips that will help you in your search for your ultimate senior or graduation portrait photographer. Each tip will have its own place in my blog as a separate post, so make sure you check in regularly to keep yourself informed 😉
Seeing one amazing photo from a photographer on Instagram or Facebook is just that. One image. I am sure you wonder what the rest of the pictures from that shoot look like. How about seeing an entire session that the photographer presents to the client? You would like that, wouldn’t you? Seeing such a whole session will help you form an overall idea of what you can expect from your session and assure you that at the end of your experience you will have more than one Instagram worthy image.
Here’s how to look at a session or a photographer’s website, blog or social media posts: look for consistency in their work. Are there too many different editing styles going on, leaving you confused? How easy do you find it to spot this photographer’s work out of a lineup because of their particular style? Do you find it recognizable? You want to know this, because most likely you were drawn to their style via word of mouth referral, or via a friend’s image or just by searching on Google. And you would like your images to have the same look and feel, wouldn’t you?
I hope that you’ve enjoyed this tip! If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to get in touch with me.
